Polymer Clay Earrings are Deceiving
One of the most common questions I hear when people see a large earring I've made is, "wow that's beautiful, but I can't do those heavy earrings!" To which I always reply, "pick them up!" Then I watch the magic happen.
You can wear big, huge ass, in-your-face-earrings made with polymer clay and they will be light as a feather (unless a bunch of heavy components have been added) and wear them with no pull, no tugging on the lobes and also without normal irritation.
Why? Polymer clay is essentially a plastic. It's lighter after it's baked than it is when it's raw. It's dense in water and will sink (which is surprising) but remains lightweight on the ear.
